A family lunch which did not disappoint! The starters were lush, especially the vegan sharing platter which was really simple but well done - the hummus was the best I've had in ages. Our mains were very good, especially the vegan butternut squash flat bread. My partner thought the gammon was a bit overcooked but as it came with egg and pineapple, he really liked it. This chips were to die for - fat and piping hot! The chicken flat bread and lamb were excellent too. We were so fulll, we couldn't manage a sweet, but there looked to be great choices there.
The service was excellent and as the bar is dog friendly and has its own log fire, we were in heaven!

So I will caveat this review by saying historically our reviews of the Drovers have been 4-5. However our most recent trip really soured my taste for it which I am still saddened by and haven’t been back.
We visited the Drovers Arms on a Sunday afternoon and opted to sit in the huts as it was relatively warm and we had the dogs in the car so wanted to be close to them. The difference in service when you sit outside is astoundingly bad! One young man manning the tables who sadly showed very little initiative. We waited a long time for him to take our drinks order let alone food. He never came back to check on us, so we ended up having to order more drinks via kitchen staff - which then never came despite us hearing them hand the request over to the young man.
Food was as always very tasty. But we didn’t bother having a dessert as service had been so poor. We also paid the bill at the bar as there was no sign of anyone coming to the table again! And now I’m glad we didn’t order anything more…
As we were driving out of the car park we saw a member of the kitchen team in his full chefs clothing sat on the floor by the bins and smoking. Absolutely disgraceful and clearly in breach of food hygiene regulations! I could not believe what we were witnessing given how highly recommended the Drovers is. I hope this can be looked into and remedied as I will not be eating here again until it is.

We found this place recently and yesterday was our 3rd visit for Sunday lunch. The staff, the food, everything about the Drovers is lovely. The staff couldn't be more helpful and the food is just delicious. Love the fact there are well behaved dogs in the restaurant too (meaning we can't bring ours as he'd bring shame on my family for generations to come lol)
Thank you so much for the wonderful welcome and fantastic food. A credit to your staff too.

Me and my partner have travelled from Durham as we were staying at Yellowtop. We were looking for a lovely little location for a perfect date night and Drovers, you did not disappoint!
The food was amazing and the service was even better (you don’t get that in the north east)!
Josie was especially amazing and made our visit very special.
The atmosphere was beautiful with the dim lights, the fire and the music. Perfect location and even better service + food! Will be back again :) Thank you!

Lovely busy pub. Very good cosy atmosphere, plenty of bears, ales, ciders, spirits to choose from. For food, we only had a starter to share, which was served quickly and with a smile. Prices are on the upper side of reasonable, so expect to pay around £25 for starter and main.

Great find for a late Sunday lunch. Lovely beef roast with trimmings. Arrived at 5.30pm and they managed to find me a table. Last food orders is 6pm, but it was very busy so I would book if there is more than a couple of you. Lovely atmosphere and very attentive service. Had a couple of real ales on the hand pumps and I had a lovely pint of pale ale I can't remember the name of.
Parking: When it's busy it can be difficult to find a space as the car park isn't huge.

Standard pub food with a nice friendly atmosphere. Children's menu available. I felt it some of the dishes were a bit expensive. Very busy on the Saturday we went. Food service was great although a little slow to get the bill out and pay. Food was well presented.
