Cancelled our carriage ride and afternoon tea at the last minute, we were about to set off when the message came through. The owner is extremely rude and sent multiple nasty texts when we questioned his motives for the cancellation, he didn’t offer a rebooking which made us suspect the cancellation was more about the size of our party than the horses welfare. I had to ask him to stop harassing us in the end. I would be very skeptical of his 5* reviews and judging by the other dissatisfied customers I think we had a lucky escape.

Can’t recommend enough. Booked as a surprise for my girlfriend’s birthday. Top bloke, didn’t get his name unfortunately, but was chatty and friendly and very attentive with his beautiful horse which looked very happy and healthy. Even bumped into one of his cats! Beautiful area and great experience. 10/10

We booked this experience as a Christmas present for our Nan through Virgin experiences and we're really looking forward to it. Unfortunately the experience was cancelled a few days before we were due to go due to hot weather expected. This had happened the week before too apparently. We emailed the operator and explained we were unhappy that we hadn't been informed it had been cancelled, as it had been booked and confirmed months in advance. The person my husband spoke to was incredibly rude and told us that the well being of the horses came first (totally understandable) that my husband had an attitude and that they did not want our custom. It wasn't the fact that it had been cancelled, it was that we hadn't been informed. We work weekends and had booked the day off work (4 of us) and had also booked a hotel so are out of pocket. Of course hot weather can't be helped, but being rude to your customers when they express their disappointment at not being told the experience was cancelled is uncalled for. If my husband hasn't have emailed to check, we would've driven for over an hour to be disappointed when we arrived. Such a shame as all the reviews we've read are really good.

The staff were very kind and friendly and the carriage ride through the woodland was lovely. We were taken around by two ponies, Reggie and TJ. We had afternoon tea afterwards. We had such a good time. My wife loved it and being able to pet the ponies too. Thank you so much!

Absolutely the most wonderful mothers day present ever. Beautiful countryside ride and then high tea afterwards. Our coach man was extremely knowledgeable and informative. Such a bond between him and his horse Rollo WOULD HIGHLY RECCOMEND 🥰🥰🥰🥰

A wonderful couple of hours spent in the quiet countryside and lovely tea room. The carriage ride was so relaxing and just a slower pace to everyday life. The afternoon tea was perfect with a lot of choice in food and drinks. A great experience for our wedding anniversary. Thanks to Gordon and his friend Rachel for making go so well.

Lovely ride out in the countryside. We were lucky to have a warm October day. Halfway we stopped for a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows. Along farm tracks. The carriages decorated with flowers, and blankets to keep you warm if needed.

Last week two friends and I went for a carriage ride. The drivers were very pleasant and polite. We went on a circular which was on some small roads, and some muddy tracks. The horse seemed very relaxed, and looked very healthy. Half way the ride stopped for us to be served with a hot drink of our choice. Back in the yard we had opted for the cream tea and were given a good spread of sandwiches, and cakes etc. Lots of hot drinks were available. I asked quite a few questions and was given answers which have made my understanding of horses better.

Had this brought as a birthday present, and I loved it, the owner was so friendly along with his helpers for our trip, they were all willing to talk about the village and the horses, the horses were very friendly and injoyed the carrots i had taken for them, we had the hour trip, you stop half way for a coffee, tea or cold drink, then you set of again along private roads and tracks, with just the sound of the hoof beats and the smell of the pine trees, we all so had the cream tea and wow it did not disappoint, comes on a platter with a nice selection of goodies.
